Web, Android and offline

Where Buoy runs

• Web: open buoy-ai.com/app in any modern browser, on a computer or a phone. Everything in Buoy works on the web.
• Android: the Buoy app on Google Play. Same account, same data.
• iPhone: the iOS app is in Apple’s review. Until it’s out, use the web app in Safari.

Your account and data are the same everywhere. A change on one device shows up on the others after they sync.

Offline on Android

The Android app keeps a copy of your recent data on the phone, so it opens and shows your budgets even with no signal.

While offline you can see transactions, budgets, savings goals, accounts, your dashboard, insights, subscriptions and rewards.

You can also change a few things, and Buoy sends them when you’re back online:

• budget category amounts and rollover settings
• savings goal edits
• transaction notes
• marking notifications read or archived
• budget and AI settings

A banner reads “Offline” with the number of changes saved on the device. If the same thing was changed somewhere else in the meantime, the version on the server wins.

Background sync runs about every 30 minutes. You can turn it off in Settings → Privacy & Data.

The web app needs a connection. It does not store data on the device.
