Splitting a receipt
A Walmart or Amazon charge arrives from your bank as one number. Send Buoy the receipt and it reads the items, finds the matching charge and offers to split it: groceries in Groceries, paper towels in Household, dog food in Pets. Receipt scanning is part of Premium.
Send a receipt
Section titled “Send a receipt”- From a store app (Android): open the order in the Walmart, Amazon or other store app, take a screenshot, tap Share and choose Buoy. A long order can take a few screenshots; share them together.
- A paper receipt: in Buoy, open Settings → Receipts → Scan a receipt and take a photo.
- From a transaction: on a Walmart, Amazon, Sam’s Club, Target, Costco or Instacart charge, tap Scan receipt. Buoy matches the receipt to that charge.
Buoy shows what you’re sending before anything leaves your phone. Tap Send to Buoy, check the split it suggests, and tap Apply split. Nothing changes until you do.
If the charge isn’t there yet
Section titled “If the charge isn’t there yet”Orders are often charged when they ship or are delivered. If the charge hasn’t come in from your bank, Buoy keeps the receipt and lets you know when it matches, for up to two weeks.
Privacy
Section titled “Privacy”Google Gemini reads what you send to find the store, items and prices. Buoy keeps those details and the split, not the image. AI features need to be on. See the privacy policy.
