AI settings and memory

AI features on or off

Settings → AI Assistant → AI features (Google Gemini) controls everything AI in Buoy: chat, insights and automatic categorization. Buoy’s AI runs on Google’s Gemini models.

• On the web and Android, AI features switch on the first time you use one.
• On iPhone, Buoy asks first with “Turn on AI features?”.
• Switching it off stops all AI features on every device.

AI Control

AI Control in Settings sets how hands-on the AI is: Manual, Coach (the default) or Assistant.

Memory

With AI Memory on (“Allow AI to remember context from past conversations”), the AI picks up facts you mention, like an important date, a goal, a family detail or a spending habit, and uses them in later answers. It also uses your past conversations for context. AI Memory is off until you turn it on.

To see or change what it remembers, open AI Memories in the chat header. You can edit, pause or delete each memory, or Delete All.
